The Council on Hypertension aims to increase blood pressure awareness among Filipinos, and to foster excellence in hypertension research and education. It regularly holds hypertension screening and education programs, and various lectures and lay fora on the nation’s most common cardiovascular condition. Numerous hypertension registry programs were developed since its inception, and multiple landmark research projects on hypertension epidemiology, namely the PHYTON and PRESYON, were completed.
