The Council on Cardiovascular Anesthesia and Critical Care aims to improve the application of techniques in cardiovascular anesthesia, and disseminate new knowledge in this field to improve patient outcome during cardiac surgery and intervention. Its current thrust is the preparation of practice guidelines for the conduct of cardiovascular and pediatric cardiac anesthesia.
