All the art pieces convey an urgent message from the group of cardiovascular experts that it is time to assess your lifestyle and embrace PHA PUSO MUNA (Pagkain na malusog; Huwag manigarilyo; Aktibong pamumuhay; Presyon ay kontrolin; Uminom ng maintenance; Sugar ay kontrolin; Obesity ay iwasan; Matulog nang kumpleto; Umiwas sa stress; No to alcohol; Ayawan ang cholesterol) as a habit.  The PHA PUSO MUNA is the PHA Flagship Healthy Lifestyle Advocacy. PHA PUSO MUNA also strongly implies that you have to “mind your heart first and foremost.

In praising the winners, PHA Vice President and Heart Month Chair Dr. Walid Amil said:   “Your art reminds us how important a healthy heart is. Keep inspiring others with your creativity.”

Amil was one of the judges together with a local painter Alfonso Miguel Baleda and Dr. Angelo Ante, vice chairman of ACE Medical Center, Legazpi.

The PHA opened the contest to all the high school students from public schools in the province of Albay, with Creativity (30%); Content/Theme Interpretation (30%); Composition/Visual Impact; (20%) and Technical Skill (20%) considered for the criteria of judging.

The PHA gave prizes worth P20,000, P15,000, P10,000 for the first, second, and third place respectively, while a consolation prize worth P5,000 was given to the participants.
