This is a one and a half day course in basic and advanced ECG for physicians (Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, General Medicine,

Cardiology), nurses, cardiac technologists, emergency medical technicians and allied professionals.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this course, the participant is expected to:

1. Know the basic ECG principles and the fundamental steps in the interpretation of a normal ECG tracing

2. Recognize normal ECG, normal ECG variants and abnormal patterns

3. Interpret ischemic ECG changes

4. Know the miscellaneous ECG abnormalities and understand the ECG changes associated with drugs and metabolic abnormalities

5. Identify ECG patterns associated with genetic electrical syndromes

6. Recognize the bradycardic and tachycardic rhythms

7. Distinguish narrow and wide complex tachycardias

8. Identify ECG patterns associated with pacemakers
