The PCP is aggressively campaigning for all PCP members, diplomates, and fellows to have their RFIDs ready before the 46th PCP Annual Convention on April 30-May 3, 2016. The original deadline has been set on September 30, 2015. We may have to extend this deadline a bit as the yield of members applying for the RFID is very low.

 

 

I. Why is there a need to have the RFID?
a. PCP will have an accurate and updated database of its membership and produce a geographical location map of all its members which will be used for various purposes but particularly help PCP analyze how we can help solve the mal-distribution of doctors across the country.

b. All PCP chapters will have a complete listing of all its members as the latter are required to register to a particular local PCP Chapters when they update their membership status. All PCP members from hereon must transact business with their local PCP chapters. Most PCP concerns must be addressed at the local PCP chapters and will not be entertained at the National PCP office.

c. When one updates its membership status and decides to transfer from one PCP chapter to another, one has to ask permission in writing to the PCP chapter where one is presently registered and also write to the PCP chapter where he/she is transferring. All arrears must be settled from the previous PCP chapter.

d. At the moment, the RFID is free for all active members of PCP.

e. If you loss you RFID, you will be charged P750 for the subsequent printing.

II. What is a Radio Frequency Identification Card (RFID)?
a. The PCP RFID has a very high frequency chip that will last for 5 years. The next renewal of your RFID will be on your birth month in 2020. Cellphones and other electronic gadgets cannot destroy the chips.

b. It makes registration and attendance easy as one has just to casually pass under an antenna and recording is done. Even at several meters far and several people passing at the same time, the antennae can detect your presence.

c. All local PCP chapters will be given a scanner each that will record your attendance to your local PCP general assemblies and other CME gatherings.

d. The subspecialty societies whose members are all PCP members can also utilize these RFIDs in transactions and attendance to CME activities.

III. What are the steps to have your RFID?
a. Update your membership status by logging on to pcp.org.ph. Make sure that you fill-up all spaces particularly your local PCP chapter of choice and send your clear ID picture in jpeg.

b. If you are successful in updating your status, you will receive an acknowledgement from PCP through your email.

c. Your RFID once printed, will be forwarded to your local PCP chapter president.

IV. What happens if you do not apply for your RFID at this time?
a. You cannot pre-register for the 46th Annual Convention through your local PCP chapter. You must be listed in a particular local PCP chapter prior to pre-registering for the convention.

b. If you forget to bring your RFID during the convention, the temporary ID will cost you P500.

c. If you want to attend the annual convention and does not have a RFID you can register on site, but afterwards you must apply for a temporary ID that will cost you P500.

· TO AVOID FUTURE INCONVENIENCES AND EXTRA EXPENSE APPLY NOW FOR YOUR RFID AND KEEP THEM IN YOUR WALLETS.

· TO HAVE A SMOOTH REGISTRATION IN THE ANNUAL CONVENTION, PRE-RESISTER IN YOUR LOCAL PCP CHAPTER ON OR BEFORE FEBRUARY 15, 2016.
